Damian Battersby, DVM, grew up in Westport, Connecticut, graduated from Staples High School and attended the University of Rhode Island, majoring in Wildlife Biology and Management and minoring in Animal Veterinary Science. He developed his love for animals in middle school while serving as a member of the junior staff at Earthplace, the Nature Discovery Center in Westport. After receiving his DVM degree from Ross University, he served his clinical year at the University of Missouri, College of Veterinary Medicine. Dr. Battersby has been associated with two animal hospitals in Westchester County specializing in small animals — Peekskill Animal Hospital in Peekskill, New York and Fine Animal Hospital in Bedford Hills, New York.Along with his veterinarian wife, Dr. Shelley Skopit, Dr. Battersby owns and operates Fairfield County’s Park Animal Hospital. The couple recently purchased the practice and its two locations in Norwalk and Darien. In addition to continuing to provide quality health care for dogs and cats, the couple has introduced healing arts services, which are offered by very few veterinarians in the region. The couple resides in Wilton, Connecticut. |
